In Florida, there are no state regulations that govern the business of inflatable bounce house/slide rentals to private residencies. In fact, "inflatable rides" fall under the paragraph for exemptions F.S. 616.242 There are no inspections, insurance, or licensure requirements at the state level. Even a standard business insurance policy for "general liability" does not typically cover patient liability related to an injury that may occur during the use of an inflatable rental. Non residential properties owned by businesses, non-profits, churches, or local government; may have additional requirements. For example, Wakulla County facilities require "applicants to provide proof of insurance that includes a minimum limit of $1,000,000 for such inflatable(s) and list the The Wakulla County Board of County Commisioners and Wakulla County as an additional insured on the certificate of insurance" (click here for Wakulla County's facility use application) . Our company does not provide insurance coverage. Therefore it is important for customers to understand their responsibilities, obtain approval if needed, and understand the few but inherit risks involved with using our inflatable rentals. With proper adult supervision, risk of injury is comparable to the same risks involved when children are using a trampoline, swing set, or private pool. We place an extra emphasis on adult supervision, proper use, and safety practices with each unit rented by our customers. We are certified through SIOTO (member ID 90afbc) for "Advanced Inflatable Safety Operations" and will ensure every potential impact is addressed at the time of installation to maximize your experience. Generally yes; however, there are multiple variables that can effect the safety of users while enjoying an inflatable bounce house and/or slide. Units must be maintained in good condition and set up per the manufacturers intent which includes the use of attachment devices (stakes, sandbags/weights) to a secure ground level surface. Taller units such as slides will also have a higher 45 degree strap to anchor requirement.
Each home's individual power circuits will have wattage limitations. We will review the power needed by our blower(s) to adequately keep the bounce house rental inflated. These blowers will often use the majority of watts per a single circuit such as your home's exterior outlet. If a circuit is over loaded, the breaker can flip causing all devices connected to lose power. This may result in an unexpected unit deflation. We will provide consultation to prevent this type of occurrence.
Not all yards or electrical cords are created equally. If an electrical cord is over 100 ft long it may be susceptible to voltage drops resulting in unexpected deflation. Even at shorter lengths, a standard drop cord may not have the wattage gauge needed to deliver the supply of power from your home to the bounce house blower. We will confirm your desired placement of the rental is acceptable and provide heavy duty electrical cord(s) at no additional cost to prevent these issues.
Our bounce house/slide rentals range from 12 to 19 feet at their highest points and each require a minimum square footage space for installation. Over hanging trees, play-sets, and other yard items may interfere with installation or adequate use. In addition, wind guest of 15 mph and over make inflatable rentals unsafe; requiring users to delay use and deflate the until the wind hazard as discontinued. Please take these variables into account and contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
